At LingoA&A (“we” or “the Company”), we value the trust that our customers, business partners and employees place in us to use and protect the data they share. This privacy policy explains how LingoA&A collects and uses your personal information when you visit our website or provide it to a LingoA&A representative, and how that information is stored in LingoA&A systems. It also shows you how to tailor LingoA&A’s use of your data. Please read this policy in full before submitting any personal data to LingoA&A.
Scope
This privacy policy applies to all LingoA&A affiliated companies and subsidiaries. LingoA&A business partners and other third parties have their own websites and privacy statements. Personal data we collect
LingoA&A does not collect personal data from customers unless they knowingly provide it to us. Personal data includes first and last name, e-mail address, phone number, address, company name, job title, fax number, date of birth and purchase or order history. We collect data only when customers voluntarily supply it. If you register to use special functions on our website, we may use the information you submit— including any financial details you provide— to deliver the services you request. You may track or change your personal data at any time by emailing or calling us. LingoA&A may e-mail you about changes to our services or special offers that might interest you. We will store your data while your account is active or as long as needed to provide services. We may also retain and use data as necessary to fulfil legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
Tracking technologies we use
We automatically collect certain information and store it in log files.
Website-access logging
Like most websites, we automatically capture IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, entry and exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp and click-stream data. We do not link this automatically collected data to other information we hold about you.
Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on a person’s computer for record-keeping. They are not personal and are used only to make your visit more convenient. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but this can be changed to suit your preferences. LingoA&A uses cookies for various purposes to enhance your online experience.
Video surveillance
If you visit a LingoA&A facility, you may be recorded on video to protect your safety and that of LingoA&A employees. LingoA&A uses such images and information for security purposes, to prevent fraud and damage, and for reporting. Where legally required, recordings may be disclosed to law-enforcement agencies.
How we use your personal data
LingoA&A uses the personal data you provide for various purposes, including operating, maintaining and improving our services and products; creating an online LingoA&A account on request; processing orders (including online orders) and sending timely notifications about order status. We also use your data to provide customer service, identify your preferences so we can inform you about new or additional services, products and promotions that may interest you, and to verify eligibility for products or services intended only for people who meet certain requirements (e.g., healthcare professionals).
How we store your personal data
LingoA&A takes reasonable and appropriate physical, technical and organisational safeguards to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use, loss, misuse or alteration. We store data only for the purposes described in this policy and only as long as necessary. Data may be stored inside or outside Germany without reducing its protection, but it will be subject to the laws of the country in which it is stored.
How we share your personal data
Except as described in this policy, LingoA&A will not disclose, sell, rent or trade your personal data. We reserve the right to disclose data if legally required and when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or comply with legal process, court order or due process. LingoA&A may engage other companies or individuals to perform certain services on our behalf and may work with them to provide specific products or services (collectively “providers”). Examples include delivery services, customer support, e-mail or SMS providers and credit-card companies. We currently use a third-party provider to process credit-card transactions on our behalf. Data collected by such providers include your name, address, e-mail address and financial data such as card number and expiry date. LingoA&A neither stores credit-card data nor shares your financial data with any of these third parties.
Security policy
LingoA&A cannot guarantee that your personal or other data is 100 % protected against theft, loss, unauthorised access or misuse and cannot be held liable for such incidents. You are solely responsible for keeping your passwords confidential. If you believe your account security is compromised, please notify LingoA&A immediately.
International transfers
LingoA&A is headquartered in Germany; personal data is therefore collected and stored primarily at our main location in Frankfurt am Main. We take measures, in accordance with applicable law, to ensure secure transfers of data.
Submitting your résumé
LingoA&A uses third-party websites to advertise job openings and allow you to submit your résumé. Any data is used solely by LingoA&A for the recruitment process for the relevant vacancy. We may retain your data for future positions that fit your qualifications and share it internally on a need-to-know basis.
Online advertising
We use Google AdWords Remarketing to promote LingoA&A’s products and services online. By placing a cookie on your computer, AdWords Remarketing shows you relevant, tailored ads based on content you have already viewed on the LingoA&A website. This cookie cannot identify you or access your computer. It simply indicates that you visited a page so that related ads are displayed. You can opt out of interest-based advertising by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative website.
Links to other sites
The LingoA&A website may contain links to other websites not operated by LingoA&A, such as social-networking sites and interactive maps that provide directions to our locations. If you visit these sites, please be aware that we are not responsible for their policies or practices. We encourage you to review the privacy statements of those organisations.
